WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

Anyone with a story to tell with the potential to affect positive change is welcome to register for Round 01. Note that subsequent StorIAccelerator rounds are competitive, by invitation only.

IS THERE A COST TO PARTICIPATE?

No! StorIAccelerator is free to all participants, underwritten by Apples and Oranges Arts and backed by support from Forward Global’s Women’s Power & Influence Matching Grant initiative.

WHERE DOES StorIAccelerator TAKE PLACE?

Rounds 1 and 2 of StorIAccelerator are completely virtual, sessions are held using Zoom video conferencing technology. Participants can partake from wherever they choose (with access to the internet). Round 3 of StorIAccelerator is both virtual and in-person in Whistler BC.  

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR THE PROGRAM?

Round 1 of StorIAccelerator meets Monday through Friday for one and one-half hours (typically 10:00am – 11:30am PT) per day. Participants must attend at least 4 of the 5 sessions to be eligible to apply to Round 2.  Schedules, and time committments for subsequent rounds will be announced at a later date.

WHAT TYPE OF STORIES DO YOU LOOK FOR?

Stories can take any form or format but must demonstrate actionable hope. 

DOES MY STORY NEED TO BE COMPLETE TO PARTICIPATE?

You can participate in Round 1 without a completed story. It is helpful to have a completed story–or be far enough along–in Rounds 2 and 3 but each project will be considered on a case-by-case basis during the application period.

DO I HAVE TO GIVE UP ANY OWNERSHIP OF MY STORY?

Participates retain full ownership of their stories but StorIAccelerator may offer opportunities for partnership, funding and future dealmaking.

CAN I PARTICIPATE IF I DON’T OWN THE SOURCE MATERIAL ON WHICH MY STORY IS BASED?

You may participate in Round 01 but you should control the right to adapt and produce the work for participation in Rnd 02 or 03.
